When Monica (the Mo) and Louis (the Lo), decided it was time to embark on an endeavor together with the aim of aiding other businesses, they realized that they wanted to be able to offer assistance to other entrepreneurs and businesses in ways that would have benefitted them when managing their own companies. Recognizing that they wouldn't be where they are without the mentorship they received over the years, they wanted to pay it forward, which led directly to the creation of Moloco. As Moloco gained momentum, they identified a specific area requiring focused attention – the food market. Individuals involved in treat-making, home baking, and other segments of the food and dessert industries encounter distinct challenges when establishing themselves. Yes. We offer remote consulting sessions for clients throughout the United States. Most sessions can be held virtually, making it easy to receive guidance, strategy, and support no matter where your business is located, at your convenience, with minimal downtime for travel. Remote consulting can be used for business planning, marketing strategy, website guidance, branding feedback, operational questions, product development, pricing, wholesale planning, event preparation, and general problem-solving. Before each session, we take time to understand your goals and priorities so the conversation is focused, productive, and actionable.
The length of an engagement depends on the type of support needed and the goals of the business. Some clients work with us for a single consultation or short-term project, while others choose ongoing support through a retainer or coaching arrangement.A typical engagement may last anywhere from a few weeks to several months, depending on the scope. For example, a focused strategy session or website review may be completed quickly, while branding, marketing planning, operational support, or business development guidance may benefit from a longer-term approach. We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all process. After learning more about your needs, we can recommend the best structure, timeline, and level of support for where you are in your business.
Before your first consultation, it is helpful to have a general idea of what you would like support with, whether that is business planning, marketing, pricing, branding, operations, product development, website feedback, or another area of your business. You do not need to have everything perfectly organized before meeting with us. However, if you have materials you would like us to review, such as a website, social media profile, menu, pricing sheet, logo, photos, business plan, packaging, or specific questions, we recommend sending those ahead of time when possible. The more context we have before the consultation, the more focused and productive the conversation can be. Our goal is to meet you where you are, help clarify your priorities, and leave you with practical next steps you can actually use. Before each consultation, we typically ask you to send over a list of questions, challenges, or topics you would like to focus on during the call. This gives us an opportunity to review your priorities ahead of time and prepare thoughtfully for the discussion. We use that preparation time to brainstorm, gather relevant resources, organize notes, and think through potential recommendations so we can make the most of your session. That prep work is included as part of your consultation, allowing us to show up as prepared as possible and keep the conversation focused, productive, and actionable.
No long-term retainer is required. We offer both one-time project work and ongoing support, depending on what you need. Some clients come to us for a specific project, such as a website review, logo design, marketing material, social media audit, business strategy session, or operational support. Others prefer a retainer when they know they will need ongoing guidance, consulting, content support, design work, or help across multiple areas of the business. If you are unsure which option is the best fit, we can help you determine whether your needs are better suited for a one-time project, a single consultation, or a flexible retainer.
We understand that non-profits and early-stage start-ups often have limited budgets, and we are always happy to discuss options based on your goals, timeline, and scope of work. While we do not offer a standard across-the-board discount, we do our best to recommend the most practical and cost-effective path forward. In some cases, that may mean starting with a focused consultation, prioritizing the most urgent needs first, breaking a larger project into phases, or recommending a smaller retainer that allows you to receive support without overcommitting. Our goal is to meet you where you are, provide honest guidance, and help you make the best use of your budget while still moving your business or organization forward in a meaningful way.
Yes, we are open to signing an NDA when appropriate. We understand that business owners often need to share confidential information in order for us to provide meaningful guidance, and we take that trust seriously. In many cases, our work involves conversations around financials, pricing, challenges within the business, vendor relationships, future goals, ownership changes, growth plans, product development, recipes, operations, and other sensitive details. We know that sharing this kind of information requires a high level of trust, and we do not take that lightly. If an NDA is needed, please let us know before sharing sensitive information. We are happy to review the agreement and discuss any questions before moving forward. We also have an NDA if you don't. Our goal is to create a professional and comfortable environment where you can speak openly about your business while knowing your information will be handled with care and discretion.
Coaching and consulting are closely related, and many clients benefit from a blend of both. The main difference is how the support is structured.Coaching is typically more ongoing and guided. It is helpful when you want consistent support, accountability, and a trusted sounding board as you work through decisions, challenges, and next steps in your business. Coaching often involves talking through ideas, clarifying priorities, building confidence, and helping you stay focused as you make progress over time.Consulting is usually more focused on specific questions, problems, or projects. It may involve reviewing your website, evaluating your pricing, helping with marketing strategy, improving operations, preparing for wholesale, reviewing product presentation, or providing recommendations for a particular area of the business. In practice, our work often includes both. We may coach you through the decision-making process while also providing direct consulting, feedback, resources, and actionable recommendations. The goal is to meet you where you are and provide the type of support that will be most useful for your business at that stage.
